What is the Prometheus Group?
No one knows what the Prometheus Group is today, exactly. Some people say the Group is a descendant of Roman and Greek secret societies; men who preserved ancient, unknowable knowledge through the centuries for an age when man would be ready for it. Some say the Group is a radical offshoot from the Illuminati; others say they're from the Druids of ancient Europe. All are wrong, and all are right.
The Group, at least the part you know about, is a corporation organized under the laws of Switzerland. (Good luck finding out about them, in other words!) Put simply, they hire teams of people to investigate paranormal activities all over the world. Salaries are excellent; one can easily live off them, you can see the world, and you'll get to work with all sorts of interesting people. You work from home; every few weeks your boss (York Glasgow, who you'll remember as a Congressman who resigned under mysterious circumstances) will send you plane tickets to San Francisco where you'll be briefed on your next mission and sent on your way. All in all, it's a good life.
On the other hand, the boss is probably insane, or at least just doesn't care. Plus, you've got only your wits against energy beasts, murdering ghosts, and curses beyond the age of history. Solve the mysteries of your work, while trying to solve the mystery of just who you work for?
