Unlike her best friends Dragon and Matrix, Pyke is open about who she is and where she comes from, though the information is technically classified.

Pyke, unlike anyone else involved with (or even not involved with, for that matter)the jump gate project, is from the future. A future that shouldn't have happened but did.

To make a long story short, a glitch in the Chronos Program caused a critical error in jump gate functions and a team of jumpers was sent into the future instead of the past. Once there, they found a dismal and bleak world where what humans were left tried valiantly to overcome an enemy unlike any other.

With the assistance of Pyke and her followers, the team was able to get back to their own time after promising to try to alter the event that lead to the future that shouldn't have been. The team kept their promise, but in a later jump caused a paradox that changed the time line to the extent that it began to unfold.

Using the same technology that helped the jumpers return to their own time, Pyke was able to alter that alteration(confused yet?) and restore the time line, but in doing so ended up where she is now.

She has a keen grasp of quantum physics and temporal mechanics and was instrumental in implementing a new training program for recruits.
