Abbreviated Background:

Ned comes from an extremely warped background. His hometown of Jackson, Nebraska (and Jackson County, Nebraska) is a dynastic matriachy where the adult men usually take their spouse's names. It's a cheerful place where 2/3rds of the population is named Jackson and almost everyone looks alike.

Ned was the youngest of ten; and thus had all the attendant problems of _that_ as well as being the only male in the family. He went a bit insane, but not too much; he had the sense to simply leave home when it was time for college rather than going to the local schools and marrying a local girl.

Thanks to his odd social skills, Ned's time at the Academy was rocky, especially because while he was fine and smart in books and stuff, in the real world he wasn't the most aware of people. He managed to graduate in the exact middle of his class, though, only spoiling matters after nearly running down his driving instructor on one of the rough courses.

This got him assigned to the FBPI upon graduation, and he went off to Los Angeles. He fell into a bad crowd a few weeks after his arrival, a vampire one, and became a junkie. Only decisive intervention by his superior and friend saved his life. After that, he had a one-night stand with an unseelie court refugee which produced his daughter Gwen, who is about a year old and beginning to grow into her full fey powers. This, of course, scares the crap out of him.

Character Quirks:

Ned is a rather quirky fellow, often nervous over the littlest of things. He is uncomfortable around vampires and fey, visibly, and breakable by both. He is very protective of his daughter, to just about any extent you care to name. He has a tendency to subordinate himself toward strong females.
