Abbreviated Background:

Candy was born in 1970, her parents divorced in 1976. Her home life was cold and antiseptic, but she spent more time at the local dance studio than at home anyways.Candy nursed hopes of being a professional dancer until shortly before her death, when she tore the ligaments in her left knee, ending her career.

With years of work and hope gone down the drain, she lost her reasons to live. She began contemplating suicide, and was close to attempting it when the choice was abruptly taken from her. Late one night she was brutally attacked by two thugs and left to die. The first being to find Candy happened to be a trainee vampire named Kevin Jensen. He saved Candy's life by turning her into a vampire, a deed that got him into quite a bit of trouble with his superiors.

Kevin and Candy fell in love, and had a relationship as stable as any vampire relations are likely to get. This continued for about two years, until Kevin, and almost all of the current trainee vampires were destroyed in a sneak attack by the more depraved section of vampire society. Candy was the lone survivor of their group, after a fall off of a building took her out of the fight.

After that, Candy took a job as a waitress at the Oubliette, both for comfort and on the principle of "safety in numbers." Although things quieted down in Los Angeles after that battle, things seem to be heating up again. It is wise for all vampires to be on their guard. Especially from cheating, two-timing human boyfriends who string a girl along and dump her without so much as a word, all over a little perfectly natural blood drinking from somone who didn't need it anymore anyhow...
